Child and education allowances in fibu3
fibu3 payroll now supports family allowances for employees. For each child, you can record either a child allowance or an education allowance, along with the monthly amount and validity period.
Multiple eligible children can be managed as individual allowances for the same employee. fibu3 combines all amounts that apply in the relevant payroll month.
Child allowance
For a child with a recorded monthly amount and validity period.
Education allowance
For a child in education with the relevant monthly amount and validity period.
Multiple allowances
Several individual family allowances can be recorded and managed clearly for each employee.
How family allowances appear on the payslip
When a payroll run is created or updated, fibu3 determines the family allowances valid for that month. The total is shown separately as family allowances on the payslip and is part of gross salary.
This makes it clear which part of gross salary comes from base pay and which part comes from family allowances.
| Step | What fibu3 does |
|---|---|
| Record allowance | Store the child, allowance type, amount and validity period for the employee. |
| Create payroll run | Allowances valid in the relevant month are added together. |
| Payslip | The total appears as family allowances and is allocated to gross salary. |
Why validity periods matter
Family allowances can have a start date and an optional end date. This records when an allowance should begin to be considered and when it should no longer feed into payroll.
fibu3 includes only amounts whose validity period covers the relevant payroll month. Finalized payroll runs remain unchanged.
- record a monthly amount for each allowance
- record the start of validity
- add an end date when needed
- combine several valid allowances for one employee in the same month
A clear basis for ongoing payroll processing
The feature provides structured capture of family allowances directly in payroll. It helps manage recurring allowances for the right employee and the right period.
Whether an entitlement exists and its amount depend on the applicable requirements and individual case. fibu3 supports recording and showing allowances in payroll processing; it does not replace an entitlement assessment.
Can I record several child or education allowances for one person?
Yes. fibu3 allows several individual family allowances per employee and combines all amounts valid in the payroll month.
Where do family allowances appear on the payslip?
The total of applicable allowances appears separately as family allowances on the payslip and is part of gross salary.
Can I define the period for a family allowance?
Yes. Each allowance has a validity start and can have an end date if needed. Finalized payroll runs remain unchanged.
